Position Summary
The College of Engineering at the University of Georgia is seeking to grow and diversify its programs through investments in researchers with expertise in advanced signal processing, artificial intelligence, and zero-trust security designs as they apply to the research and scholarship in the Cyber-PhysicalSystems including but not limited to power and health systems.
Several Postdoc and Ph.D. research assistantship positions are available in the research area of sensor data artificial and zero-trust data fabric designs. The postdoc position can be converted to research engineer after one year. The selected candidate will join us to create innovative sensor data AI methodologies, including advanced signal processing, machine learning and deeplearning, and create zero-trust data fabric designs for health and security monitoring applications. The lab currently focuses on three research topics:
- Cyber-physical security and health monitoring of electrical machines and networks
- Health and activity monitoring of human and animal via contactless sensing
- Decentralized zero-trust IoTdata fabric based on web 3.0
These positions seek to identify highly qualified candidates with expertise at the intersection of artificial intelligence, security, cyber-physical systems (in particular healthcare and power systems). This position will be centered in the College of Engineering’s Center for Cyber-Physical Systems (CCPS) and will be supervised by the Center Director. The College of Engineering already has significant expertise in the areas of Cyber-Physical Systems, SensorSystems, Internet-of-Things, Signal Processing, Machine Learning and Deep Learning. The CCPS creates an ideal environment for candidates looking to explore AI in IoT and CPS, which includebut are not limited to AI-based smart sensing, smart grids, remote medical/health monitoring, zero-trust data infrastructures.
All positions are immediately available and open until it is filled. The postdoc position is a calendar-year appointment (12 months) and is expected to develop a vigorous, high-impact, externally funded research program; manage the CCPS’s outreach and proposal missions; effectively mentor undergraduate and graduate students; and contribute to a diverse and inclusive environment within the university.
